GECII was retained by TU-Electric to design and implement 900 MHz Multiple Address Radio Network to be used for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) communications purposes over a geographical region of North Texas covering 122 counties. GECII provided project engineering for the design and implementation of the multiple 900 MHz radio systems connecting four substations each to the SCADA master computer in Fort Worth. Project activities included conducting physical site surveys, providing path/propagation analysis, path design, frequency filings with FCC, equipment design, installation/test supervision, and review of vendor test data for acceptance.

GECII provided detailed design drawings and “As Built’ drawings for each of the radio and antenna systems.

GECII engineered and managed the project for the implementation of both the analog and digital multiplexer, Timeplex additions at the SES microwave facility. GECII provided detailed engineering for the installation and migration of existing multiplex equipment and the new equipment to the new shelter.

Also GECII, documented end-to-end circuit configurations for all multiplex channels, provided documentation and drawings to install and maintain the new multiplex systems. Project effort included generating circuit documentation packages for all circuit drops; both old and new, writing detailed “cut-over” plans and test specifications and providing installation supervision for the subsequent implementation.
